    Default HDMI from Laptop

    Should HDMI from Laptop to Plasma send Audio as well as image?

    I will get model numbers later if needed.

    It should. DVI doesn't.

    i have HDMI 1.1/1.2 i think which ever had to use optical/coaxial output instead

    just install a new video card for my sons computer which has HDMI out but there is an internal cable from the card to the mainboard to get audio out, not sure on the laptop tho

    yep it should. had this problem once with a customer, they were usind vlc player, tried windows media player and all was well. 1st time windows media player done its job. so try a different media player than the 1 you are using.

    Funny thing was it was a shop copy DVD (genuine) it would not play in windows media player. Windows Vista. The DVD plays in VLC volume is all the way up, and sound comes from the laptop speakers but not to the TV.
