What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Result Your IMEI Number is currently blocked by Vodafone since 02 January 2008 8:00 PM.
anyone know what this means ?
is it locked to vodaphone ?
telstra sim didnt work in it.
also when u have the vodaphone sim in and dial a number it replies call baring activated ?
Ring them?
If it to good to be true then it prob isnt.
most likely its been reported stolen/lost so vodafone has had the imei blocked.
the only way to have it unblocked is to have original owner report it found/unblocked
How does IMEI blocking actually work?
Digital networks can disable a mobile phone completely using its IMEI number. Mobile networks can track this number through calls made on their networks and if a person tries to re-register a phone that is reported as lost or stolen they will be identified. The system automatically blocks or unblocks a handset on any GSM network by sharing information in a central database called the AMTA IMEI Clearing House.
Optus, Telstra and Vodafone send a list of phones to be blocked or unblocked each day and also receive the details of phones to be blocked or unblocked from the other service providers. This means once a lost, stolen or found mobile phone has been reported to a service provider it can be blocked or unblocked within 24 hours. The whole process is facilitated through an Electronic Information Exchange messaging platform which was developed through the Australian Communications Industry Forum. The hosting, operations, support, and maintenance for the EIE messaging platform are provided Paradigm One Pty Ltd.
could it be locked to vodaphone, and as there is no credit on the sim that it is blocked.
i was thinking of buying it as it has signal here and the ones i have do not, i have 2 go 200 meters up the road
In the end its your $200.
In your original post!
Were only trying to help.
If the phone was provider locked it would say incorrect sim card
if the phone is IME locked it will say you can't make a call or call baring activated And you can't deactivate it
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
sell it to a friend overseas
it will work there only blocked on aus network
Dont waste your money mango , it sounds like it is IMEI blocked because it has been reported lost or stolen and will not work on any australian provider.
It used to be reasonably easy to change an IMEI , but it was then made highly illegal
i didnt get it.
he sold it to a friend of my g/son for $50, and guess what? the kid went and bought a new vodafone card and away she went.
moral of the story is, u win some and u lose some, and yeah im a bit pissed of about not gettin it lol.
At least you learned something mango.
A mango is never too old to learn ;-)
