Seriously ... That guy's hair can't be real ?
Actually, I'm a bit disappointed with this guy. Is he trying to kill kid's interest in science ?
I've watched a few of the videos now and I give them 2 stars out of 10 for the best examples.
The Uranium enrichment video sucks dogs balls. I'm now having trouble believing that the guy with the hair is actually some sort of science professor.
He's explanations suck, oh right, I said suck before. Ok, they really suck !
His description of depleted uranium and it's uses was crap. His description of where it is used is wrong and it was poorly explained even for somebody who doesn't have a clue.
Actually, I'm on a quest to find Uranium in aircraft. Even more so, I've put the challenge out to everybody I know to bring me piece of aircraft that they think are radioactive, with a special emphasis on depleted uranium.
So far... I'm winning. Nobody has been able to present me with even one example, let alone one that I do not already have
I haven't had much of an opportunity to crawl over aircraft even though I had access to lots of them not that long ago.
Their explanations for why an average person cannot enrich uranium was also rather poor. Enriching uranium on tiny scales can be done. But anybody hoping to build a bomb would take a very long time to amass enough material let alone the subtle complexities of even simplified enrichment techniques.
Transmutation of Thorium and then chemical separation would be a quicker way to build a weapon.
I'm thinking I should do my own Uranium enrichment video

I got turbine blades out of a Concorde from Ebay, so it might be possible to ask the scrappers to offer counter weights from the control surfaces off a 747, considering that they sell whole brake rotor assemblies from 747s for enthusiasts.

David Hahn in the mid-nineties was a teenage boy scout working towards his merit badges. One badge in particular, the Atomic Energy Merit Badge, caught his imagination when it required him to make a model of a nuclear reactor out of cotton buds etc. David went further and sought out household sources of the materials he would need to make his reactor. Here he talks us through what he did and the surprising results he got.
