Whatever you do DON'T buy the Samsung Laser Printers because they are crap and their service is practically non existent. HP or Brother seem to be okay.
I need to supply some laser printers as part of a solution. They only need to be mono.
Does anyone have any experience and recommendations on brand? There are a lot of reviews on the net but no real clear winners, I'd like real world experiences.
I'm used to the higher end of the business market (HP, Ricoh, Canon) but dollars are a BIG factor here.
They need to be
1. RELIABLE, I don't want phone calls about paper jams etc. all the time
2. Initially cheap to purchase
3. Cheap to run, no huge consumable costs
4. Simple to use, easy consumable replacement
5. Small footprint
It'd be nice if they were networkable via Ethernet, but not a biggie as 99% will be near a PC, so USB is fine.

Brother HL-2140
I have probably gone through 10 printers over the last 20 years and this is the first one I am satisfied with.
Easy toner(powder) refill and reset procedure if required, trick with tape over sensor windows will get almost another 1000 pages out of the toner cartridge but should not run too low as the drum can get dirty, can be easily cleaned with soft lint free cloth though (under low light conditions).
The cheapest I saw for a new cartridge (retail) was $38.
This is a $99 printer (if you shop around) and has done well over 6000 pages with no signs of drum wear yet.

model ML3550N
Love that its got a network port on the back of it. Prints for ever and ever and ever as well.
However if you print out ALOT of papers in one go, it gets hot and the papers start to roll, when the papers start to roll they get stuck.
I was told by a fella at some ink shop this was common of the samsungs.
Thanks guys, I'll go and have a look in the flesh at the models suggested.
I was offered some new Samsungs at an unbelievable price, but after my long term argument with Samsung re my LCD TV I was a bit hesitant with them ..Maybe the printers are better..
