Your Notifications.

This has only started to happen this afternoon.
When you go and read and or reply to a pm, it does not cancel the "Your Notifications" on other pages. No others are shown in the message box.

Try refreshing the page or going to a new page & not clicking the 'back' button & let us know how you get on

I tried 'Refresh',
'New posts',
Another Window ' Home Page', 'Refresh'.
Made a post, then 'New Post'.
I retraced, re-opened the PM, then 'New Post' again.
Not using Back Button at all.
Replied to an earlier PM, no problems.

If it's unique to you beer, you might want to do the spybot/adaware thing

Bit of a mystery.
I've closed all windows and rebooted.
Deleted history and cookies.
Changed pages.
When you sent me a PM, it went to 2, and then reverted to 1 after read and 'New Posts'. I'll just keep an eye on it and try to work it out?
I always knew my PC couldn't count.

Found in "Unread Visitor Messages" and "Unapproved Visitor Messages", but cannot delete either.Actually shows (0) in 'Your Notifications".

Mystery solved.
But how do we fix it?
Another VB or a Bundaburg?

I wanted to ask a wise man a question... I am arriving from Italy and will bring my decoder box with me. Is it possible to get a satellite installed in Sydney city —not sure where I will be living yet — to receive the Hotbird satellite signal? And can I be guaranteed it will pick up Sky Europe?

Its not " gremlins in the board " its someone sending you a message. If you dont want to receive visitor messages turn them off in your user control panel.

It's not as simple as that.
This has only surfaced with the latest vB.
Methinks " Profile Privacy " is the culprit, or at least part of it.
Visitor messages are readable by every one including guests unless they are on your 'Ignore List'. You seem to have this turned off, but very few others that I can see, including other Moderators.
In my opinion this should be default "OFF".
They cannot be hard deleted by the user which then leaves them as a pending 'Your Notifications'.

Perhaps you should edit or delete this once you have read it.

There is no " culprit ". You have simply received a visitor message. Visitor messages are public messages. If you dont want to receive them , turn them off via your user control panel. You are showing me profile privacy , which allows you to set who can see your profile when they click on your name. This has nothing to do with your topic.

What it comes down to is you can either have Visitor Messages turned on or you can have them turned off. If you dont want to see them and dont want to receive them , turn them off and the problem is solved. Visitor Messages are not Private Messages , they are 2 entirely differne things.

Should you still have a problem , please use Helpcenter on the toolbar. This is not a support forum , it is a forum for staff to post rules , information and announcements. If you want further information about Visitor Messaging I would suggest a look at or their forums.

I asked to " post here " in another totally unrelated thread. Why you have gone there and pasted it here I have no idea.

If you dont like the reply to your question , there is little I can do about it. You asked a question , you got an answer. As I have stated to you about half a dozen times now, if you dont like Visitor Messages , turn them off in your user control panel. I am not going to disable them for the entire site because you dont like them , thats why they are turned on and members have a choice of turning them on and off.

Profile Privacy and Visitor Messages have nothing to do with each other as you have already been told. If you dont like being told to use Helpdesk for a user issue , sorry , but thats where everyone else is told to go to submit a ticket for a problem. But as there doesnt appear to be a problem other than you have VM turned on and probably could turn them off to avoid receiving them , that shouldnt be necessary.
