Default New TomTom Go 730 updated and lost FM transmission!

I've read about G0 users losing their FM transmission after updates through TomTom Home. I forgot about that and when i finally got my new Go 730 and got it updated (map 835) it also lost the FM transmission.

If i put the original files (i've backed up) back to the unit - will i get my original FM transmission back - albeit with the older original installed map?

Otherwise has anyone been able to get their FM transmission perform with the latest updated maps?

PS - which part of the 730 is responsible for the FM transmission - navcore or firmware (don't know what the tomtom firmware is?)?

    Thank-you.

The map has nothing to do with your FM transmission.
It is part of the Navcore and TT was legally required to remove the FM instructions because it is legally not allowed to have asilent FM signal (that would be the case between instructions).
The new 8.390 Navcore is able to overcome that problem because it is a truck Navcore and TT was able to get a permission because modern trucks won't let the weak FM signal pass to the outside - please don't ask me about the deatials of that deal

    Default App 8.351 (9982/090518) w/FM Transmission

    GO730
    App 8.351 (9982/090518).

Instructions through FM Transmission was supported if the "Jukebox" was concurrently being broadcasted through FM transmission. If the Jukebox was off, the instructions default back to the internal speaker.

That got me thinking about recording a "silent" mp3 file (small file). Repeat playing through FM Transmission. But in-between instructions it'd be silent.

    App 9.004.1804
    Lost the instructions through FM

    Speaker Preferences
Instructions through Internal speaker, Bluetooth hi-fi device and line-out (audio cable). And Music through Internal speaker, Bluetooth hi-fi device, line-out (audio cable) and FM to your car radio.

Downunder35m: Is it the same with you for 9.004.1804?

If you need Fm instructions try the 8.390 Navcore...

i've tried navcore 8.390. One still have to play some mp3 file for the instructions to come through. I really like the FM instructions without having to be forced to play an mp3 file at the same time. I've got an idea - since the navcore is responsible for the FM transmission, if i load back my original navcore - would i be able to get it to run on the updated 8.35-2419 aussie maps and would it restore the FM transmission like original (don't need mp3 files to be played to get FM instructions).

I've tried copying my original (before TomTom Home updated and affected the FM transmission) backup back to an SD card loaded with the 835-2419 maps and it didn't work. Maybe it had something to do with me having a higher Bootloader 5.5256????

The bootloader is not the problem - you need Navcore 8.2xx or higher for the 2419 maps , the 2420 will work on older Navcores ,but without ALG and IQ routes
