    Default digitalarm 908

    Hi,

I have one of these alarm systems and it has been beeping intermittently. It has a smoke alarm hard wired to the main and I arranged for a sparky to have a look - he cut the wires to the alarm - this appeared to fix the beeping until that evening when it started again but quieter.

The panic and fire alarms on the control panel are on red lighting and I can't get them back to green even if I input the access codes.

I think it may be the backup battery - can I unscrew the console and replace this myself or will it set the alarm off?

Or is the problem something else.

    Help!

You should have called a licensed Security Tech not a sparky.
Call a Security Tech and they should be able to get your problem solved

    Default backup battery

Where is the backup battery located? Is it in the box and can I unscrew the box to get to it?

I think the battery doesn't work and whenever the power goes off and then comes back on the alarm is activated.

If your electrician cut the wires to the smoke alarm - as far as the security panel is concerned that device is in alarm, thus the red alarm lights.
