PS2 Help

I have a ps2 V12 slim line with a ghost 2 mod chip I just update the firmware from . I pressed the power button 5 times but now when i go to load the gost manage if come as a black cd on the sceen. It say playstation 2 disc up top on the screen and if i click on the disc get goes to a black screen. It's the same if i put a burnt game in there it comes as a black screen. But i can normal games fine can some one please help this it doing my head in

ps the chip is 2 years old and has played burnt games before.

PSS: Is it possible to use any other firmware other then the ghost 2 firmware

Sounds like a bad flash...are you able to re-flash it? unfortunately not much support & not as popular as other mods still in the market.
