Spooked to Microsoft Australia over the phone couple of days ago, and asked them if they have a family pack or something similar, answer was ONE CHILD PER FAMILY oops, one license per PC.
I will wait until the RC expired, see what will t then.
    Cheers

Well what's stopping one from installing the new OS on to more than one PC at home?

must have one hell of a data base for every activation for every PC, maybe as long you don't do your updates at the same time??

try it mate and you will find out, you next step would be to do a legit install on one PC and then install it on the others and use a patch to stop the activation and install a working key ?

Ive read somewhere it is possible to actually activate more than once.
The second times have to be done via phone.
They will ask you if you have it installed on any other PC's.

Im not sure what will happen latter down the track though, if it is detectable it is activated on more than one PC.

You will be violating the EULA though by doing this and its probably not advisable.

Its fairly cheap as it is though, ~$150Its well worth the $$$$ for what you get.

Don't get confused.. the family pack is NOT available in Oz.

It is in America, so some people buying from there. MS have said that sometime next year Oz 'may' get the family pack.

As I understand the family pack lets you upgrade legit Vista and with XP it first wipes out the data, so back up is highly recomended. How does the upgrade pack handles three different Xp machines with corporate legit key. All three xp PCs have legit key, but the key is obviously the same on all of them?

I fugged up, thought I'd install it on an old P4 I have as a media PC just to see how it would run, so I let it do it's thing and didn't spot the "Let windows activate when connected to the internet" check box so once setup off it went and activated... Now I have just wiped this PC (Quadcore) and installed and it will not let me activate... What a PITA.... Might try calling MS tomorrow and see if I can BS an activation...

    Mumble, grumble......
