Default Star Trek Movie backup prob

Trying to backup the new Star Trek movie DVD but am getting a strange prob, DVD Decrypter sees the masin movie files about 6 times so it think thes DVD is like 41gig or some such.. makes it hard to copy

Have always used DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink with no problems before, so is this some new kind of protection ?

Anyone know a way around it ?

    Thanks for any info.
    Cheers.

If it sees it 9 times, can't you just select 1 of them?

Anway, DVD decrypter is pretty old and doesn't work with some of the newer protections.

I believe the following will work with any current counter-measure:

    DVDFab 6
    DVDXCopy
    1Click DVD Copy Pro

I always run an up-to-date version of AnyDVD in the background also.

    Cheers, RHCP.

I use the one that is built into AnyDVD, works everytime.
BTW, it worked with Star Trek when I ripped it the other day.

Cant get anydvd to work. Had to use dvd43 version 4.6.0.0 then run one click dvd copy pro. That was ok.

I downloaded AnyDVD but apparently I didnt turn off the automatic updates which now I gather you must do and that wont let me run the program.
It seems now because I stuffed up the download, it has left a tracer in the computer that wont let me try again.
Is there any way I can correct this problem.
I have Shrink,DVD43 which may need updating by a previous posting and Decriptor, none of which would let me back up Star Trek either.

    Try this...

    1. De-install any version of AnyDVD you may have and reboot (!)
    2. Use FoxKiller to remove any leftovers
    3. Kill your internet connection by blocking or unplugging
    4. Install this version of AnyDVD HD and reboot (remain unplugged or blocked)
    5. 'Register' the key so it's a full version
    6. Go to options for wanted settings (I recommend unchecking the 'automatic check for new version' as it may classify this key as blocked)
    7. You may use your internet again (but you may want to block AnyDVD from internet access, to make sure)

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/299881555/SlySoft.AnyDVD.HD.v6.5.9.5.Incl.HD.Key._Foxkiller.rar

ssrattus, thank you for that info.
Before I do anything else, I will do a 'Search' for AnyDVD and try to remove all traces of it.
Then could you give me some advise on the following before I download it.
After the install, I have Zonealarm running so could I use it fully 'block' internet access if AnyDvd wants to access the net and I say no on Zonealarm, otherwise how would I stop AnyDVD and would it keep trying to access the net everytime I start up the computer?

You should be able to block its access fairly easy with ZoneAlarm. I no longer use it but had no problem blocking programs when I did.

Follow the instructions... ie uninstall and run fox killer to remove all traces of anydvd. The version of fox killer in the link is version 8, the latest. By selecting "don't check for updates" as per 6. will stop anydvd checking for updates, step 7. is the "belts and braces" ie blocking it with your firewall, it may not be needed.

As for step 5. I actually did it differently, I renamed the key file (in the KuMaSat HD-key folder) by adding the extension .reg and merged it into the registry (ie right click merge or just double click it) it is a registry entry.

OK, I have unistalled what I could find of Anydvd via search.
I wondered where 'foxkiller' was as I didnt see it in the link as I didnt slide it over and it was 'hidden'.
I didnt think untill I redid the search that just because I had deleted what was there, it had gone completely as it was still in the recycle bin which it showed on the 2nd search.
So I emptied it and then did a reboot.
Now to reread and write it down.

Try searching the registry for 'anydvd' and delete all of them - i've done this with a few apps (including this one).

    Cheers.

Should work ok with a cut and paste into the browser, just tried it and it was OK. 2 people have already downloaded it OK.

Maybe there is a problem with the length of the url so have made a tinyurl version

    Code:

Thanks scrattus, that tinyurl worked perfectly.
Looks like there is something else that needs attending to (long URL's) which might explain why I sometimes have trouble with IE "Cant Find Page".
I have saved the download and will start nice and fresh tomorrow to install it.

My 'Nice early Fresh Start' today has been anything but.
Due to exuberantly deleting everything in sight late yesterday, I have just spent several hours trying to restore literaly what I stuffed up last night.
I eventually opened the Foxkiller an hour ago and ran it but I keep getting this message 'Error has occured calculating the name of the old WIN Temp file'.
When I click ok, another box opens to tell me that something has gone wrong and it is 'scheduled to be deleted at the next reboot'.I have and it hasnt.
At the bottom left of this message box is the heading Files Info and underneath it says, 'No Trail files found'.
I have rebooted, searched files and folders, emptied the recycle bin but each time I run Foxkiller, it scans and eventually the error message appears.
I had disconnect from the Net before I extracted and ran Foxkiller.
Sorry to be a pain but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Install anydvd and see if you have a 21 day trial, if you have this means any old entries are gone and you can proceed to use the registration key.

If it says expired then go through the process again step by step.

If you get the same temp file error you could try running CCleaner, it may do the trick.

Lastly you could try running foxkiller after booting into safe mode, ie pressing F8 on reboot.

ssrattus, unbelievably I think I got it working !!!
    It says registered to 19.10.10.
I unchecked Auto updates and the option to connect to server for assistance plus in Zone Alarm when it activated it while I was disconnected from the Net, clicked on 'Deny' access and ticked 'Remember' selection.
When I first opened it the box (Information) said 21 of the 21 day free trial but after rebooting it, Information now says Registered to etc.
Apparently it doesnt like DVD43 which I just updated to 4.6, warning me there could be conflicts beween them so should I remove it or play wait and see?
There was NO mention during the install of any previous install of AnyDVD so the cclean and Foxkiller did their respective jobs well.
Now all I have to do is UNDO what I stuffed up yesterday.
Thanks for your very appreciated assistance.

dvddecrypter complained a few times but...well time will tell.
