Default HD set top box/mystar HD on pc monitor?

G'day, just snagged myself a 24" lcd pc monitor the other day, that has hdmi in, and a resolution of 1920x1080. Just wondering, can I use the mystar HD (when it comes out)/a HD set top box on this, with the HDMI outputs?? I didn't think I would, as IIRC, standard tv outputs are 50hz in AU, and this monitor only supports refresh rates of 60hz, minimum. I do have a component-vga cable that I use for my projector... if all else fails, would this work, or would it bugger the monitor?

Apart from the 50/60Hz issue, there may also be HDCP issues if the screen isn't HDCP compliant.

Only one way to find out for sure.
