    Default home Page Setting

    My grandson was using my computer and must have accepted an invitation to have Yahoo as my home page.
    I went to tools to change it back to the original, I can change it then select apply then ok.
    But as soon as i open another browser it come up with the yahoo home page.
    Any ideas how to fix problem ???

    what else do you have running? ie firewall? Spyware scanner?

    If there is something running that prevents the changing of the home page then if you do a safe mode start you should be able to change it.

    Restart XP (or vista) and start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. Select Safe mode. Then change the homepage and see if it stays that way. Reboot again and see if the homepage stays to what you set it to.

    Now you need to find out what has caused this problem. Try some online spyware scanners such as and

    Also check your installed programs to see if he has installed anything as well.

    you will have to find out what program he was using at the time when it was set to yahoo , there are numerous programs at the moment doing the same with yahoo and google and each needs a different fix.

    one other question how do i get the browser to open max. and not in half size

    I know this can be done but I have forgotton

    My solution was how to get around the problem, you really should try and find what is stopping the home page change. Something installed or some spyware are main candidates.

    Open the browser and size it to the size you want, wait 5 secs, then close.
