    Default HP laptop screen problem

Hi got a problem with my screen on my HP Omnibook xe4100 laptop. Its about 6 years old. Its works ok for a while, but it soon starts to break up the screen. Goes white, has all lines through it, goes black etc. Then it might go ok for a bit then start playing up again. If i connect to my CRT tv it is fine, which makes me think i got a virus or faulty screen. ATM i only have half a screen. Top half is my background, the bottom half is black!
Uses windows XP Intel Celeron. Is there anything i can do or is it rooted? Is it even worth trying to fix? HELP!

You will probably find that the connections to the lcd panel are starting to fall apart.

if you are lucky you can dismatle it and pinpoint the problem whil pressing on connectors while it's running.

failing that a replacement panel is required.
