I have acquired one of these units and find some disturbing problems.

Mainly each time we loose power which is frequent atm with the storms , the unit holds all its information except the date .
It reverts to 01/01/2006 at GMT +1

Any one got any clues on how to fix it ??

For $830 you would expect better

It is still freezing when using a white pointer and has no epg at all

The clock setup options are GMT or Time Zone.

GMT and +11 (If you live in the south east) is the correct setting, The box will update the clock and date from the stream.

EPG, make sure ICE Guide is turned off.
