OK i got it to work with the official 5.50 release by installing over 5.00.
Only one problem is the menu's have weird names like the left key name is "burger or chips" all other menus have weird names too.
Going to delete, reinstall and try copying the fonts folder from new version over.

Has anybody had this problem?? how did ya fix it

    Ok got it sorted now.

Copied the new files from:Garmin/apps/symbian/res folder.
and replaced the files in same folder on Nokia N95 8Gb.

    All good

Default How Twoshots got it sorted

    *Download Hollowmans Version

    * Download official release:

    *Download the earlier version here:

    * Copy Garmin folder in Hollowmans download to your device.

*Install the earlier 5.00.0 version and follow the activation process in hollowmans post.

    * Extract files from the official release and look for the Gmobilecard folder.

    *next copy files from: Gmobilecard/Garmin/apps/symbian/res
    the files are: (gmbmp,gmtsr,gmtxt)
Now place these 3 files in the Garmin/apps/symbian/res folder on your device.

    * Now install the official release which you will find in the Gmobilecard Folder.

Run app on your device, and all should be good....well it got me sorted

here is an edited version of hollowman's post on what I did to install on a nokia n95 8gb. If anyone want updated pictures for the post just ask as this was a rushed job.

    2) REQUIRED - for Symbian S60 3rd Edition (software)
    3) REQUIRED - Australia and New Zealand [UNLOCKED]
    4) REQUIRED - (keygen)
    5) OPTIONAL - Extra (optional)

    INSTALLATION:
    ------------------------------------------------------

    1) Extract Garmin [5.00.60 standalone en-gr.rar] that you downloaded above (using winrar) and extract GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50050.exe by right click on the file then click extract files.
    2) Copy all folders inside [GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50050/GMobileCard] folder to the root of your internal/external memory of your nokia phone, including GarminMobileXT.sis on the nokia phone open the folder called [Garmin] and open the folder [Garmin 5.00.60 standalone en-grGarmin] and copy the folders [POI, Vehicle, Voice] to the [Garmin] folder on the nokia.

    3) On the phone, search for a file in the root directory named [GarminMobileXT.sis] and run/install that file.
    4) Once that had completed, you should connect back to the PC and remove the .sis file you had just installed or you can just leave it there, up to you.
    8) Extract the [gmapprom.rar] file, you will get a gmapprom.img file - This is the map file
    9) Copy across the gmapprom.img file into the Garmin directory on your phone/card.

    SOFTWARE UNLOCK CODE / ACTIVATION:
    ------------------------------------------------------

    1) You can now remove the phone from the PC as some Nokia's dont allow access to the memory card when plugged into the PC.
    2) Navigate to the APPLICATIONS icon thru your menu and find GARMIN, then run it.
    3) GarminXT should load up and give you a list of some options. Choose [connect to a garmin gps] or similar, its the last option. Choose this and it will give you access to the main menu (if it starts to search for a GPS, just hit skip for now, you can configure it later).
    4) Go into ‘tools’ (the spanner icon), then settings (again, the spanner) then scroll down to ‘about’ and write down the 10 digit Card ID.
    5) Exit GarminXT
    6) Extract JMKG 1.5 FINAL.rar
    7) Run garmin_kgen.exe
    8) Enter the card id that you wrote down in the [enter the unit id here] field, choose Garmin Mobile XT, then press Generate

    9) Copy or write down the generated code
    10) Create a text file and copy/type the generated code in it
    11) In notepad, go to file, save as, then save the file and name it SW.UNL (NOT SW.TXT.UNL)
    12) Copy the SW.UNL file to the Garmin folder of your phone, it should look like this.

    13) Launch Garmin again and it should now be registered and working (You may need to select the Map from the menu. To do this go to Tools, Manage My Data, Map Sets - and make sure the relevant file is enabled.

    That is it ! Enjoy

try using a program called poi loader, i created the GPI with that (complied it)
bascially you put your mp3, poi's, speed cams etc in one folder and the poi loader compiles it together as a gpi....

Thanks Hollowman, read a couple of your other guides, it's excellent. Just a question about Garmin mobile XT with SE Satio. Everything else is working fine except it does freezes(hang) when you perform map browsing. Do you know why? The same Garmin 5.0050 version worked for my N82 without issue.

Thanks etherx..... but what is a SE Satio ?
it may hang due to ram issues, not having enough ram can cause things like that, or even not enough CPU power...

SE Satio is the new sony ericsson phone Satio(Idou).

It has 256mb ram and a rather fash processor. I read from the other forum and there are a few users with Nokia 5800 experiencing the same issues. It's not major anyway as the nav still works.

    Default Nokia E75

Hey Hollowman, I've tried everything that you've suggested and aslo what Twoshots suggested and I just can't get thing happening.

I go through the menu and start the application and it just reverts back to the menu.

    Any ideas?

Maybe, it can't be done with the E75

    Great post by the way!
