    Hi, there,

    2 quick questions:

    - will VGA work on my 800x480 display (I understand that VGA is for 640x480) or will I absolutely need to find a WVGA version? If so, is there anybody having a link to that (I searched over the torrents and nothing showed up)?

    - the key generator seems to be password protected. Could anybody provide a password for that file?

    Thanks, guys.

    Hey Hollowman

Does this work on HTC HD2?
HD2 has screen resolution of WVGA.... so which software should I try? VGA or QVGA

    Hey chaps.

is anyone else's TOM TOM setup quitting, or crashing just after the splash screen, back to the menu?

If so, have you resolved it?

thanks NRT, unfortunately using Hollowman's Aus map that version gives "not enough memory", tried three other maps and didn't get the memory issue but all failed to activate.
I've had no problems with a Mio C710 PNA which also has CE 4.2.
Maybe the CE 4.2 on the PPC's is somehow different.

Hey first post here. I can get TomTom working with the maps activated but whenever I load up TomTom the GPS signal is really bad. Drops out every few seconds.

However, if I run the original GPS prog (iGO ver 8) that came with the PNA (Chinese one) the GPS signal is fine.. Anyone got any clue what's causing this?

    Thumbs up

Hi, About loosing the signal, when configure your gps device in tomtom settings, you have to select the other NMEA gps device not the inbuilt gps. when you select the nmea gps device it will ask for boud rate, 4300, leave on it, select the com1 on the next screen then you will see channels connecting and tomtom work as it should. hope that helps. cheers.

I have a chinese GPS and am having trouble setting up TomTom. I have followed all the steps outlined here and when I go to start TomTom my unit says "Please set GPS path first"

Any one got any tips on how to set the path? Is it something to do with a port setting?

Hi downloaded this reg edit tool onto my 7" Chinese GPS / DVR and it works great on Wince 6. Can I use this tool to source where the stupid Cartoon Splash screen is and replace with my own picture of choosing. I refer you to my post here originally on POST #1279

    Any help appreciated.

Don't you just hate it after you post a question to a forum you suddenly get a stray thought about why don't you look here. I figured out what the problem was, I remembered that you cannot always adjust all of the settings needed from the power control panel. Because the Windows CE OS is normally so heavily reliant on battery power in has a countdown from last input till it will enter an idle state. In this case the first idle state is to turn off the GPS receiver. And the only way to disable this feature is from within the registry.

Word of warning, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL what you do to the registry, there is a very real chance of bricking your unit!!!! You have been warned!!!

Inside the registry I found a lot of cool things that could be modified, some of these things were the volume of that horrible thump that comes out of the speakers when you are clicking on buttons on the touchscreen, and the power settings that caused the TomTom to freeze up. I am very happy that now my cheap chinese all in one radio is now about 95% operational to my standards. (only thing left is to figure out how to pair my phone to the bluetooth which is giving me a lot of troubles.)

If anyone wants the places where certain things can be modified, post a reply and I will track down some interesting variables that can be changed.

Here is a neat registry editor for Windows CE:

    Have a great day everyone.
