I used it in my Destinator GPS (NAV-I400B) so don't need a new application.

I don't know but that site I referred to would know if the whole application was available but I cannot see why developers would release it.

Hi, what voice files do you have? Because I can't get the TTS to work and when I look at the Voice folder there's an English female voice and in the other folder 'All" only has Spanish?

I've got spanish and english too... (not to sure how to get rid of spanish coz i dont need it)

I'm somewhat confused as to why TTS is not working for some people but it works for me ? - I'm using the same RAR file that i posted in post 1

i try to use the 2009 q2 map to Destinator 6. but not working .
is any way to make it work ?? because my old GPS can only run Destinator 6 .

you can't run the new map on destinator 6 --- its way to old, we are on destinator 8 now

I think that to get TTS working you have to switch it on in your Destinator configuration settings scroll down to TEXT_TO_SPEECH=0 and change it to =1.

Thanks Luck Duck, I looked for that setting but it doesn't appear under destinator.ini, should it be found somewhere else ? you mentioned config file, I don't seem to have TTS reference anywhere. I added that line in the ini file but still doesn't work? I then found a TTS = no in the voice folder and changed that to yes, still no TTS?
I must have a different version but can't see how as I downloaded everything from this tutorial?

I didnt find any reference to tts myself, but in the process of looking for it, i found this.... go to
\Storage Card\Destinator\MobileNavigator\UserData

and open SOUND.INI - see the line below and make sure its a YES

;Say road names for the start navigation and maneuvers
SayText = yes

hopefully that will fix it

And even though I have placed 1 in the Text to Speech line it still dosn't work for me, I just thought It may work for others or help look for something similar in your GPS.

You guys can buy an original update for Destinator from here at $99. Don't know if it has TTS but I will ask them.

You're using Destinator V7 - you need a TTS Voice folder which contains, amongst others, two files named svox-kr0sc0en-US22_c.pil and kr0sc0en-US22_c.pil in order for TTS to work. Google for Destinator 7 TTS Voices and you'll find what you need.

Recommendation - upgrade to Destinator 8; it'll run on your device and it has all the files necessary for TTS.

@luck duck, sorry if i seem rude, but why are you using v7 still ? also, i dont have that ini setting, what is the configuration file called ?

@mylnym, this is a D8 thread, why would someone go to gpsunderground and get it when its right here ??? but thanks for the info that you supplied

@everyone, i still dont know why my D8 has tts and others don't, even though they are using the files i supplied ??
