This is similar problem and fix its for vista so may be similar for Windows 7 ?
Hi all,
I just updated my laptop from vista to windows 7 with the free update that i was given from hp.
Prior to this i had no issues with my usb thumb drives and hard drives.
since the update i can no longer use my usb drives. other usb devices seem ok its just the drives.
I have disabled user access control and i am the administrator.
I can format the drives but cannot read or write files to is. When i try it says you need permission to perform this action. You need permission from the computers administrator to make changes to this file.
I have searched all over but all that turns up is how to nstall win7 from usb.
Any help much apreciated.
