    hey z80 - i received my 7020 Thanks!!

I have a small issue though that i will check out more throughly tonight. The remote wont work from more than a meter away from the box. I have tried a DM500 remote and a third party Logitech Harmony One remote and got the same result so its obviously a DM7020 issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? Will I have to change the IR receiver chip? Should the 7020 be replaced?

    Feedback appreciated.

Not a 7020 issue, I had to use the remote to test it.

Open her up and check that the sensor window is aligned and hasnt fallen out of its socket in the post.

It has to be something dumb like that.

Just a reminder - please use the iTrader feedback system for your buying and selling. If you purchased a receiver from z80 , simply click on the iTrader number under his name ( currently 0 ) and leave feedback.

In another thread an inportant bit of info was mentioned.....

When you have all the channel list on the TV, press the video button repeatedly and it will toggle channel views on both PLi and Gemini.

    Very nice feature...

I will say this only once.

A lot of people say that earthing the LNB is bullshit.

Look on page 8 of the dm500s manual..."the LNB must be earthed to SABS061 standard"

Look on page 8 of the 7020 manual "the LNB must be earthed to SABS061 standard"

Do not complain if you do not do this.

I will know if it wasn't earthed because a particular component blows.

desktop dvd drives are as low as $25 so some will think $90 is.
Of course you need an adapter for the notebook drive that costs about $30 as well and they dont come with it usually.

    any left?

nope, I have a used GENUINE 7020 with a dvd drive fitted for sale though......

Bought it from my mate zbee last year and i don't really need it.
