    Default Windows 7 help needed

    Received my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate in mail yesterday loading was all good , picked country , time region ect, valid key the a massive ERROR came on screen

    Can not open file C:\RECOVERY.DAT.
    and that is where it stay's tried turning off cleaning disc seems to start loading the the ERROR page will re appear and i can't get around it

    Have you typed that error into Google?

    Format the drive and do a clean install .. from what I've read it has something to do with the recovery file/partition.

    Had errors my self Installed it in safe mode thats all i done, loaded fine.

    Good you got it on. When I installed it onto my main machine (installed onto 3 lappys and a pentium 4 ok) it kept coming up with failed install, corrupted files etc. Totally ripped what was left of my hair out. Agonised over it for 4 days. Tried everything. Last resort was a bios update and after that it then went on like a dream. I'm impressed with it.
    You can learn alot using Google, and the search button.....
