    Default GAME ON is on!

    Cool,

GAME ON the world travelling game expo is in Melbourne and opens today.
I was able to visit it in UK last year while I lived there and this exhibition is great. If it's anything like that, there should be heaps of hands on games, both stand ups and consoles to play with!

We did have a entry time in the UK but once your in you can stay all day!

I don't plan to go until next month, not enough free time , so if anyone does, let me know what they think,

    Zaius

I went last night and it was really good

    My highlights were:
Seeing and playing asteroids on a vector screen
Tron , this game is great with joystick and spinner controls
Star wars arcade machine, the controls were a little stuffed but still impressive for it's time.
Atari Jaguar, there's a full numeric keypad on the controller.

Things I would have like to have seen:
    Arcade:
    Double Dragon
Street fighter 2 machine (I guess it would have been a big que)
Hard driving or race driving Chase HQ or any old cockpit raceing game

    Home:
Sega master system, didnt see anything.
Amiga, Cant belive there was nothing there
    CommodoreCD, 3do, Amstrad's

My only other gripe is the amount of emulated games they tried to pass off as running on original hardware. You could see the system behind the perspex but they mostly weren't running.

It's definitely worth a visit, it's like a lock in at timezone.

i went a few weeks ago, wasn't really all that impressed with it, as you said above it was missing quite a few consoles, computers, and 3-4 arcade machines were "out of order" when i was there.

If you live in melb then i'd say it's worth going there just to kill a couple hrs, otherwise i wouldn't bother

Took the kids Saturday and they enjoyed it.
Unfortunately there is not a lot of seating available for parents and no 'Microbee' pc.
This was my first home gaming experience many years ago.

I went last week and didnt think a lot of it
It need a lot more old Arcade style games, and where was activision, collecovision, consoles, not even a commodore Vic 20 pc, if it was a history of gaming they left a lot out

I went last week, pretty good overall but yeah it was missing a few things.
There was no master system or 3DO there and Neo Geo also under-represented.

Whoever was saying there was no Amiga missed the stuff on the right hand wall just past the escalators. Most of the queues were to play Smash Bros Melee and 6 player bomberman on the saturn. The SNES controller attached to super mario kart was stuffed, but I have a SNES at home anyway!

Heaps of handheld stuff too - they also had a Virtual boy there, but you couldn't play it

Bit pricey at $15 entry for what was there - but better than going to see a crap movie.
