Default Please Post a Snap of the folder structure

    Forget the pink text
    Hi all,

Just having trouble following the instructions.

Installing on HTC HD2 with WinMo.

One instruction will mention the sd card, then another sd card / device and another device.
I prefer to store and run ALL on hte DS Card and NONE on the phone.

Can someone post a couple of snaps of the folder structure thru Active Sync?

I can't wouk out where the map.img file is supposed to be stored in relation to the QuePPC.exe

    The QuePPC.exe is in my \Storage Card\Garmin\Apps\WM

And the Garmin Mobile XT.exe is on the \Storage Card\Garmin Folder

Is everything supposed to be on the Storage Card?

Which am I supposed to be executing to find the map.img file?

Seems I have 2 Garmin Folders. 1 on the phone after installing XT.exe and anohter I created on my SD Card.

    Forget the pink Text

===== My successful installation Notes for the HTC HD2

    - At this stage I have done nothing to my Storage Card regarding garmin

    1. Start by Connecting via USB and Allow ActiveSync to initiate on the PC and on the phone.

    2. On the PC execute GarminMobileXTforWindowsMobile_50020w.exe
Garmin Mobile XT Setup will ask where you want the XT.exe installed to
    I selected the Storage card
    Installing ....
etcqueppc que resources que setup que sp eula euro blue trian truck garmin
Final instruction | next | exit the install
    Phone has messages
Do you want to install... I respone Yes
(after the fact it has already install onto the SD Card I thing this does nothing
    Eula Message - I agree
Garmin Mobile XT - Install complete. Run XT? - I wait here - I do NOT respond

    ====

Here I use AutoSync Explore to browse thru all folder to see whats happened
UNDER my windows mobile-based device folder a Garmin folder has been created
It contains Garmin Mobile XT.exe, Garmin.nvm, and Que.exe
Under \Storeage Card There is a Garmin Mobile XT.exe on the root
AND there is a Garmin folder
Under the Garmin Folder there are folders Apps, Eule, and Vehicle
    .
To Clarify - I now have two Garmin Folders one under my Mobile Device and one under my sim card

    Confusing for the first timer.
But I only use the Garmin folder on my STORAGE CARD for any further install steps
-NOT the one on the phone -NOT the one on the phone

    ====

    .
    3. Extracted GMAPSUPP.IMG - OK
    4. copied to the Garmin folder on the Storage Card
ActiveSync disconnected - can't handle large files
connected via usb as storage device and copied successfully
    5. Extracted and copied Additions and .img files into Garmin folder on Storage Card
    6. Created folder JCV under Garmin on Storage card and copied .jcv file into it

    ---
    Back to the phone
Garmin Mobile XT - Install complete. Run XT? - I respond NO
I reconnect with active sink - I want to find the QUEPPC.exe and remove QUESP.exe as its confusing
again phone message - Run XT? - I reply NO - message an error with aatuto run - I reply Don't send
Via Active Sync - I delete \Storage Card\Garmin\Apps\WM\QueSP and QueSetupSP

    I execute \Storage Card\Garmin\Apps\WM\QuePPC

Warning be ready here to quickly choose skip, then OK

Garmin Loads - 3 menu Items on bottom half of screen
Warning be ready here to quickly choose skip, then OK, AFTER choosing Find GPS
    - I choose Find GPS
    - I choose Skip
    - Garmin Online access
    - I choose OK
    - locks up if too slow
Hard reboot via battery removal and replace
    Tried again - nope
Tried again - have to answer skip and OK really fast

Successfully got to Garmin WHere to?and View Map screen
Spanner | Spanner | about | card id - got it
    Back | Back | back | exit
ActiveSync again and copied sw.unl to Garmin folder on Storage Card
Lauch Garmin and verify map sets has enable dhte relvant file - not sure here - nothing about enable - has one listing and its details - looks OK
    Unlocked mapsource with no issues

hope this helps any who get a bit lost.

    Hollowman Rocks!

    Those snaps have no reference.
    And don't reflect my install.

    Hi Hollowman,

I've installed xt on my sim card.
There are two different Garmin folders - one on the mobile device and another on the Storage card.
In which folder do I place my map.img file? - Got it - found on your other thread. In the wording not in snap - copy to Garmin folder on Storage card

    Default Hollowman Rules!!!!

    Dude! You so freaking rock!

Man, that was getting to me.
Trying to focus and keep my place.
Never being sure if I executed the last step correctly.
With the good wife calling me to do chores before guests for Boxing Day arrived!

Got it all working before having to rush around to get the chores done.
So didn't get the time to post my success or clean up my log.

Edit the log as you see fit or completely remove.
My plan was to have somewhere to keep my place and help the next poor sole to install with clearer step by step instructions.

Gotta take a nap and sleep off this over eating before I'm called down to help clean up the after dinner dishes.

If my log is still there when I get back I'll clean it up.

You've help my make my HTC HD2 a really really nice chrissie pressie and a fantastic offline work tool.

    All my very best.

    baz

    Tested it last night.

    Drive to Sherlock Holmes

    Then out to dinner

    Very very cool

Kept expecting the sexy voice from the original Battle Star Galactica
to tell me which way to go.

    But no voice.

Audio | Voice is blank with no selection available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Garmin Voices

Nope - doesn't work on the HD2 anyway.

BACKUP your original English_American_.vpm file first.

Then I believe rename the .vpm to English_American_.vpm
then copy that one over the one on you card garmin\voices

BACKUP your original English_American_.vpm file first.

BACKUP your original English_American_.vpm file first.

Anyone have the original English_American_.vpm? Was never on my phone.

    Default Gps - hk brand

Hollowman: I'm brand new to this forum and impressed with your expertise and know-how already. Very professional Sir.

I have a 4.3 GPS on its way from Hong Kong and it's loaded with Australian Maps - unlocked. My question is, with regard to all you've written, is it easier to simply purchase an SD card with Garmin 2010 maps on it and load it into the unit rather than go through the lengthy procedure outlined in your tutorial?
    Thanks and Cheers

its easy to use my tutorial ...
all your answers are in this forum so dont panic.
where would you buy a sd card with garmin preloaded on it ???
Garmin can be a little tricky to get going on a chinese gps, however if you click on the link in my signature, there are heaps of others that you can put on it...

    1. Easy share ask for another 500 sec but sleep longer or appear link of registration
    2. In case of trial with additonal.xml on asainXT 5.00.30 and V.10 (win6.5), this should work or not as your idea

Used this map in Brisbane recently, but it doesn't have the Gateway motorway to the Gateway Bridge on it ! Igo map on my brothers GPS was much more recent. A bit disappointing for my Garmin.
