    Default WSTV on GE 23 - 172E

Apparently GE23 is going to fire up again with a FTA movie channel.

    Taken from

WSTV is now seen in the South West and South East Pacific via Island Internet Link from space on GE 23 Satellite (172E) ku-band. This signal sends WSTV programming, via internet streaming direct from space. It is a result of an expanded partnership with Hawaii Pacific Teleport. The service includes our 24x7 movie programming and expands our advertising footprint beyond Canada, USA, Mexico and Asia to include these Pacific Islands.
WSTV is now Available via Satellite in Asia
Thanks to our new partners at Hawaii Pacific Teleport, our movies are now seen in The Philippines and twenty Asian Nations including China, Hong Hong, Taiwan and Korea.

Educator TV runs older movies and shows too, tey seem to be not interrupting the programs as much, but run ads between them.

Might be worth doing a T90.

Does anyone know of any signals on GE 23 at the moment? I lost my exact DiSEqC motor position for it when I changed boxes some time ago. The position that I have stored for it at the moment is simply extrapolated. I tried blind scanning it anyway, but didn't find anything.

There are only NZ feeds, which aren't on all the time, hopefully this channel goes onto a Aus/NZ beam so we can at least find out where GE23 is. Anyone got any frequency details yet?

Nasa TV is irrelivent in this thread, but it is on the North East Asia beam on IS2, plus it's $. Intelsat 701 should be fine from Newcastle if you have a decent dish & plate.

    Now back on topic.
It seems Lyngsat shows a South Pacific beam for GE23. But from what I have heard, they are only feeds to NZ. Hopefully WSTV will go onto the South Pacific beam.

Got very deep pockets and the appropriate connections? You could do what the Chinese, and more recently the Americans, have done to get rid of a satellite.
