    Default Navcore 9.004 fullbackup

After countless requests I decided to provide another fullbackup:

If you consider using this : make a proper backup first! It is not my fault if you miss that step and is does not work on your device!!!
This fullbackup contains all you need to get going directly after installation.
    The Navcore is already patched!

    Included is the following :

Screencapture : tap in the top left corner of the screen and it will safed into the folder "screen" - very handy for posting some error messages
Tomplayer : completly configured video an MP3 player with FM transmission to the car stereo (if your device has an FM transmitter!!)
Direct selection of the emulation : No switchfiles necessary! Switch between the emulations directly from the menu!
Suspend button : send your Tomtom to sleep directly from the menu - a press of the power button wakes it up again.
Memory boost : if you are low on free RAM is can improove it a bit - use only if really necessary ,still experimental!
Voices : several TTS and standard voices included - Homer needs activation for your device!

Recommended for devices with 64MB RAM and screen 480x272!!
32MB RAM devices and/or devices with small screen (like ONE) are likely to have problems with this Navcore)

In case the computer voice is not working (I've done some modifications) on your device simply connect to Home and delete it ,after that redownload it and it should work just fine.

All you have to do is add your map - if you had activated it before you only have to copy the mapfolder on your device.

There are two possible ways to install this :
    1. clean : delete all files and folder from your device and than extract the archive to the root of your device.
Add your map folder and activate the map - if not activated already.
If you had special voices ,car symbols MP3's or whatever copy it from your backup to the device.

    2. just overwrite your existing installation : leave everything as it is and only extract the archive to your device - however this not recommended as it might cause problems with old files ,so do it at your own risk!

    hi Downunder
Just tried this and it work like a charm!! Thanks for all your time and effort.
One question When i go to tomtom home it gives me an error "You have invalid version of tomtom"
I can continue after hitting ok.
I have this update on my sd card and the old original navcore still on my TomTom.
Is this a common error or have I done something wrong
    Thanks
    Dave

This looks cool - think I'll try it with my TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition - that has 2GB of Space and 64MB of RAM

Downunder35m I not only want to thank you for providing these files to try out but for all the efforts you've gone to to try to explain things as well as you have done - I've been on many TomTom Forums and most people on there that provide such files are Computer Geeks that know how to put together brilliant software but can barely put string a few paragraph to explain to the rest of us what the software does and how to install it.

You explain things a lot better then the vast majority of people out there.

    Thanks for the kind feedback!!
I started as a noob as well and to read ,read and read - but all was confusing and sometimes outdated for years.
I found this forum by accident and noticed that a lot of people tried to get help with Tomtom devices but noone answered ,so I started to help out a bit

Well I've installed this on my TomTom XL IQ Routes and it runs, some nice features - I particularly like the way you can switch with a single press from 2D to 3D and control the auto zooming on both 2D and 3D separately.

Text To Speech I could not get to Work - even after following the suggestion of removing and then adding it - but not too bothered about that

where did the design of the Status Bar come from - is this something TomTom have design or yourself? I'm not sure if I like the rounded edges or not I think I find the sight of the map peeking through around the edges a little distracting

That is a feature of the v) Navcores ,not my idea
Text to speech can be a bit tricky on some devices - sorry about that !

Is there a way to disable the Screen Capture ?

The button for Screen Capture is in the same position as the Zoom In button which means I can Zoom Out but cannot Zoom in Manually anymore on my maps.

Also is there any known reasons why a TomTom ONE XL IQ Routes Edition might occasionally lose all sound and need a restart to get the sound working again?

It did this to me yesterday whilst driving on the Motorway, so I had no Audio warnings of Speed Cameras or any voices to help guide me along my journey - all I had was the visual stuff to follow. Loosing the sound in a moving car is a major concern for me.

The thing I like most on this version is the single touch to switch from 2D to 3D and back again and the way you can control the Zoom Levels.

I think the sound might get disabled whilst switch between 2D and 3D Views as it also does this in Demo mode.

Also I've notice sometimes you press the power button to shutdown and instead the unit restarts when using this version .. any ideas why this might happen?

Is there a version of Navcore that gives the one touch 2D / 3D switching and independent control of zoom levels without all the other extras like TTS (Text to Speech)

You can disable the screen capture by simply deleting the folder "screen".
For a ONE (even if it is a XL) you are better off using a V8 Navcore.
On most ONE models the V9 makes problems one way or the other.
You could try to use the x20 or x30 emulation to check if it works better.

Hi DU. Like what you have done here. I've just copied the archive 9.004 straight onto my 730 and it all seems work great. I have a question/problem with TT Home (I'm not sure if you have answered this or not previously, sorry for asking again if you have...)

TT Home spits the dummy when I run "Update my TomTom". It throws this error:

ERROR: 573/# Error from server: You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application.

Any thoughts? Is this something you get as well? I've tried to update TTHome with the latest KG (4.1G), which worked, but did not solve this issue.
Anyways, aside from this problem, I really like the makeover. Cheers.

DU, with this direct screen emulation, how does that work? I updated mine with basic pack and doesn't seem to have that option? That something you added yourself?

The SE versions or the basicpack provided by TTUSER uses switchfiles to change the emulation.
It is a completely different way ,so if you need the switching from the menu you need the Extra version.

I can't get the official TomTom speed cams working properly. I was able to get then to show up in the POI's but unable to get any sort of warning working when I am near one.

    I am using a GO720.

    Any help would be appreciated.

To get the official cameras working you need to enable bluetooth. The "TomTom Services" Menu will then be enabled. Thats where you can access all the official tomtom camera settings.

You also need to run the keygen and make sure the meta.txt has an entry for the current camera file version you are using.

If using the SE navcore then you need to add the Switch "bton" to the Setconfig.txt file.

Thank you, I was looking in the normal POI settings.

Unfortunately it does not allow you to type in you own customised warning like the POI's. Most of the included sounds are very corny.

That was discussed many times - use a suitable .ogg soundfile in the folder "sounds" to be used as a warning.
