Default No audio on Asus Motherboard

    Hi there all,

I have a Asus P5PL2-E motherboard with the audio on board. I have done a format on c drive. After doing that I have reinstalled all the drivers but I can't get audio.

My question is how do I make it work??

    Thanks in advance

Have you gone into the Motherboard BIOS to see if the soundcard has been "enabled" ??

    Hi eaglem,

Yes the sound board in Bios has been enabled.

When I go into properties and double click on it, it says "This device cannot start (code 10). with a ! at the end of it.

Do you know what this means?? Mind you I did have sound before I formatted it.

Have you installed all the chipset drivers from your motherboard cd?

This device cannot start (code 10).
I have had this before when i installed the os with all the cards installed
    ie. modem,capture and wireless network
It ended up the wireless was using the same IRQ number or something
so I just moved the card to a different pci slot and all was good

    good luck
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
