    Default Paranormal Activity

One of the better scary movies I have seen.

It uses the found video concept aka Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, and Quarantine.

It is about Katie who is being haunted by a demon. Her boyfriend, Micah, sets up a video camera to capture what he hopes is evidence of a ghost, eventually paranormal things start to happen......

The are no monsters or blood fest.

    8/10

if you are easily bored and don't get the subtlety then maybe you won't think much of it.

And the scariest part about this movie is that it is all absolutely, honest-to-goodness TRUE!

    All hype imo.

Paranormal Activity is a 2007 independent horror film written and directed by Oren Peli. The movie premiered at the Screamfest Film Festival in the U.S. on October 14, 2007, and was shown at the Slamdance Film Festival on January 18, 2008. The movie received a limited release in several U.S. cities on October 9, 2009, and had a nationwide release on October 16, 2009. The movie centers on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. The movie is presented using "found footage" from the camera set up by the couple to capture what is haunting them, in a similar manner to The Blair Witch Project, and The Last Broadcast.

The film is has been cited as the most profitable ever made, having earned over $100 million at the U.S. box office alone, on a claimed production budget of $15,000

Several different versions of the film exist.
    3 different endings.
I must say the cinema ending is much better than the 2007 dvd rip even though its only 5 mins.

Wait a minute! If it's true, how can it have 3 different endings? :?

just watched Paranormal Activity, thought it was a bit average really.
i did like the idea of it though but the theatrical ending was just cheese.

hate horror, had this a while, watched it last night, was actually quite good. few things that normal people would not do if it was happening to them...

i mean who hears noises and then does not turn the lights on.
if you were pulled out of bed, YOU would be the F out of the house

but as far as story/acting/production it was very well done... I think Katie's part was well portrayed, that Micah was annoying from the start. But for a film with 4 characters, it did hold up well. (katie/micah,katies friend, Dr)

the camera work was really good. and I wondered how much was being shot by professional camera people as many times you see the character's reflection in a mirror.

one assumes that this did not cost much to make, but made allot of money in the cinema's so that goes to show it can be done and not follow a hollywood script.

i say well done and worth a watch
