hmm. Optus D1 for aus channels and feeds, D2 for a load of christian channels and globecast many feeds, Optus C1 if you have a card. try some satellites and see what you find. it's more fun that way/ the strongs scan slow as on a uni LNB.
Hi everyone, I have recently picked up a new 90cm Dish for $35 inc postage and Universal LNB, running a strong 4658x and a switch.
Heres the question, what satellites will i be able to pick up on my 90cm? I wanna just browse and see whats available if i need a legit sub card please say so or pm me.
Thanks all will let you know how i go too.

You didn't say where you are, but if you're in Australia then the Optus satellites (D2, C1 and D1) offer the best bang for your FTA buck. There are other satellites that you should be able to receive also (depending on your location - NSS 6, AsiaSat 4, Mesat 2, and Intelsats 8, 2 and 701) but there's nothing much on them of interest that's FTA.
Oh: You won't find Al Jazeera on C1 and Imp**** (and NITV) on D1 with a blind scan, as the PIDS are hidden; you'll need to enter them manually. Check for details.
[QUOTE=andic;22947] Hi everyone, I have recently picked up a new 90cm Dish for $35 inc postage and Universal lnb.
Where from??
Want one for that price.
LNB was bought seperatley not inc the $35 lol incase anyone thought that, sorry.
Just put the dish on the veranda (?) anyway, found D2 by having my receiver with sig strength set for D1, scanned in D2 lots of stuff, but what do i need buy to get most of the channels? and Ive just scanned D1, and i think its kinda cool to have multiple LNB but will it make me look sus as i dont have a sub card at the moment, dont want people on my door cos i have one LNB too many, thoughts please.
Basic question, with a 65cm standard dish and UNI LNB what will i be able to pick up sat wise, LYNGSAT doesnt state what size dish you need as far as i can see, or should i mount my 90cm dish ? Multiple LNBs or Should i buy a motor and get the dish moving? Thanks
I'd go with a 90cm on a DiSEqC motor (I did).
expensive?
You should get a Motor for $120.
But you will need to find some info for setting it up.
Its very easy when you know how.
Here is basics: (Settings for Melbourne)
MOTEK
Motor: Set to zero & Fix dish to Motor
Lattitude: - 38 degrees
Elevation: - 52 degrees
Dish:
34 degrees
Power Motor to 11 deg & find C1.
This will give the correct orbit for all sats from NSS6 to I701
You may get some skew issues with LNB, but a bit of compromise doesnt hurt with a 85cm dish but will with a 65cm dish.

That pic looks a like vetrun ish disavow
looks like Raven Riley to me.
means extra electronics, and some receivers aim or budget, and let's face it, not everybody needs a positioner for their dish.
