    Default F*cking lightning

Okay, I actually do have a coupla surge protection devices, I just didn't have them hooked up two weeks ago when a big electrical storm fired up overhead. My mate and I were both happily surfing away, hooked up to the same router when a big bolt whacked down in the back yard less than ten yards away.

Results: Blown glass sliding door, melted router, melted phone lines (three houses either sides of me too), three 'puters with melted ethernet ports, melted cordless phone base, melted wiring in the office walls, melted mobile that was on charge, a 24" LCD monitor with a screen that looks like a Warhol print on bad acid, and an English Mastiff bitch who won't leave the safety of my bike shed for love, money or Porterhouse steak.

It took about five minutes for my eyesight to get back to normal and my hair to stop spiking up; I haven't been that close to a boomer ever before and I don't mind saying it scared the absolute shit outta me.

I had a bolt of lightning hit in a paddock next to me at night. No damage to the car but it was so bright I could not see for a while after and the noise was unreal.

That’s pretty exciting at 100 kmh on a dark country road. I just stood on the brake softly to stop in a straight line which worked thankfully. Lucky it was the straight road with no other traffic.

We had a cow hit a couple of years ago , we found her in the morning.

She had a funny look on her face, and she was opened up big time.

The smell was something that you never forget.
