    Default pc lock-ups, your geuss?

    i got this ### here
    new psu-other got fried
    478\gigasbyte\2.4 celly\2x 256 ddr

    format,clean install with sp3, load drivers,programs,alls good for 12 hrs then
    freeze. reboot, 5 min freeze. aarg.

    safe mode,all looks good. ordered them whole new upgrade but im still tryin to save this in meantime

    you geuss?

    hard drive?
    windows?
    moby?
    ram?

    memtest the ram, if that passes i would suspect the h.d., as it is lasting 12 hours before crashing......

    if it was motherboard you would expect it to crash way sooner.

    yea well im gunna throw old sp2 on it in a minute
    a few game for his kids n thats it
    not getting enough to muck around with 1 new part at a time.
    the new 1 coming was 250$ prebuilt
    am2 3800,aio,1g ddr2,80gig,case\psu
    takes me too long to fix stuff with my hands lol.

    Most freezes are due to faulty RAM. Then, as suggested above, the HD.
    Rarely it's the mobo.

    What size power supply have you got in it?

    start from scratch mate
    mobo, cpu, one stick of ram gfx card(if not onboard).

    boot it up, reload windows test test test.
    no lock ups add one part one and a time untill you sus it out.

    suggest you get urself a slab of the finest while u tackle this problem.

    had a similar problem with my personal pc a couple of weeks ago, turned out to be the gfx.

    keep the thread updated and people bounce some ideas to you as they come.

    Do the wiggle test
    just grab each piece and wiggle see if you can make it
    freeze,works for me sometimes
    When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
