    Hello hamguy2
I'm an old far and don't know much of these things but have select coming in on a motec and an octagon .
when there storms and signals drop I find 12286 h 28611 ( rt ) the strongest.
Also when blind scanning its likely to show bars for another sat but cannot load.
Maybe its not on the sat you want.
    regards flicker.

Just to be clear ...... our symbol rate is 28,800 kSymb/sec and the FEC is 3/4.

We operate a NIT so if you network scan one transponder, the box should find the other two.

maybe they are already loaded? if not load the select TP's, and do a NIT scan, if no go then something is not right. maybe you aren't doing something, maybe the STB is not. if it is new i doubt it.

if your LNB is a 10700, then you have a problem. try entering it by pressing the numbers on the keypad. can you also please puctuate better. i am not understanding what you say.

So the basic question is put another way is; "Does anybody with an Octagon SF518 receive SelecTV"? :-)

    Eitherway, not a SelecTV issue.

    Hello Keepleft / hamguy2.
    Yes indeed (see post 4.)
I reckon its not select either.
I think my octagon shows strength and quality bars when its on another sat that has close frequencies.
I wonder if hamguy can see/check the dish position as he scans ?
    regards flicker.
P.S this may defy logic but I think its what happened to me.

These boxes seem to act differently to so many people, maybe a software issue? I purchased my 518 from krystal electronics. Worked straight away with fuxtel card, aurora card and select card. Change from 16:9 to 4:3 and lose audio on aljazeera and on imparja d1 (rip). But yeah no probs with select ever on my 518.

yes, you can change the lnb setting to 10700, or any other frequency. i have one running fine with a 10700 lnb. however the procedure is a tad convoluted. i will post a mini tut on this asap.
