    Default Newbie cable questions

I'm moving house next week. From appearances it looks like there are both Opt and Fux cables going into the new house. I haven't got in there yet but it looks pretty promising that they're both connected.

I have a dreambox so i've ordered a cable tuner to play with.

    Some questions:

Will there be ANYTHING of interest on one cable that is not on the other?

Will it be the same frequencies to tune into both?

Will a legit foxtel sub (even if its a sat one) open pretty much everything on both?

Is there such as thing as a disecq type switch that would allow me to connect a single cable tuner to both points?

Sorry if all this is very noob, but i've never played with cable before.

    thanks,

    p.

No not really, they have the same channel line up.

    have a read here.

No youre sub will only allow to view the channels you have subscribed to but i have read it work yes of both sat or cable.

I can't see any point or benefit on having a box connect to both providers at the same time cause they both have the same channel line up.

No problem, all the answers to all your questions are here, all you have to is search & read.

with only 1 dreambox I guess your not doing any sharing?

    good luck with your move

A cable fux box card will work in a sat receiver such as a DM500

I rekon if you subscribe and they will only give you a cable box, that is the better option.

Set up your dish & utilise the DM500 'S'.
