Ultraplus F-9000HD PVR - copying files onto USB

I thought I read the 9000HD could copy recorded files onto an external usb drive but I have tried and cant find any option to do so.

Has anyone figured out how this can be done? Transfering recordings over ethernet takes a l..o..n..g.. time - shame it hasnt got a gigabit connection.

I see they've released another firmware (1.7.83) which has the ability to copy recordings from the internal disk to external USB disks. It's pretty darn slow too though - not much faster than copying over the LAN and offers zero progress during the process other than a symbol to show it's busy copying. A percentage number or even the current filename displayed would be nice. As it is I dont know if the copying will finish in 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Still I got what I wanted I suppose. When will manufacturers like this catch up and fit gigabit LAN and eSata ports for external disks? It's not like we're talking about shifting a few MP3 files, or JPGs - these video files are seriously big and take an AGE to transfer off the box, whether by LAN or USB.

Does any one use one of these STB's? Ive got a couple of other questions about it...
