    What a bargain.!!

I'll come around and do it for $98.

I guess there is a big market out there for this type of service..There are few guys on this Forum who offer a similar service for Tv, Satellite etc..

I reckon if you can't set it up yourself properly, you shouldn't have it..!

And you want to hear something scary, the Target price is an undercut. From BestBuy the Geeksquad gives you a $129 service

It was higher a few months ago.

alphredo you'd be amazed how many cant do that LOL

we charge $88 for an installation, and that only covers the house call and first 30 mins

theres some out there that need an IQ test BEFORE being allowed to purchase, they dont read the manual then get pissed off cause the thing wont work, i've seen it heaps of times

eg, silly di*****ad brings in his fax complaining that it wont record an incoming message, i test the unit works fine and i book it out, he then next day storms in winging that its exactly the same we've done nothing and we ripping him off and treating him like hes "some sort of idiot", so i go out the front at the counter in front of all the other customers and let him have his litle winge and then ask him what he's doing to record the message
"i push that button and nothing happens"

"really this button here, cause thats the one i used and it works perfectly (and i play out going message and my voice comes out) see thats my voice so it works"

i then plug the unit in and ask him to show me, he then pushes the button down for 2 secs and says "see doesnt work"

a broad smile crosses my face and i ask has he read the manual, he then produces manual and finds the page pertaining to recording an OGM, and he states " I read the F*****G manual and its useless"

i then get him to re-read the section and i stop him at "hold the record button down for 5 seconds to start recording the message" i then hold down the button while counting "1...2...3..etc" and funny as i say"5" the unit goes beep and starts recording.

to which he gets the shits, grabs his unit almost buggering it as its not unplugged, then storms out saying "F**king thing, you shouldn't have to hold it down for that long"

so some fools and their money are easily parted, for a F**KEN GOOD REASON!

This is almost as good as my $50 WiFi securing fee... I use to drive around with my lappy securing noobs WiFi connections for $50, good way to make $200-300 an afternoon if you're bored.

thats a good idea, did you just get the people with no security or did you crack any wep encryptions? just wondering about the legality is all.

No cracking, I use to drive around the local area with the lappy on and watch it pick up WiFi. After pulling up to a home I knock on the door and politely let them know that I noticed their WiFi is unsecured. Then I let them know the risks associated with the network being unsecure, be it fraud, kiddy porn etc, then they are happy for me to secure it for a small fee. It also helps having some sort of ID hanging on a lanyard.

you dont even need the extra arial allthough it may help, i used to go war driving with an eeepc and it would connect too most unsecured networks with a decent enough connection.

It's your responsibility to keep your wireless secured I heard it doesn't matter if someone else is on your network downloading illegal content, your the own who didn't secure it correct and you are liable.
