Default CCTV Camera Video Audio Balun UTP Network Transceiver

Does anybody know how suitable these transceivers are for CCTV PTZ outdoor camera.

    Thanks

There are many reasonable BALUNs but if you have CAT5 available, why not just start an IP solution,

An IP PTZ is now a lower price than a equal analogue PTZ.
Combine this with a IP decoder back to analogue if required or stick as a true IP system.

I have supplied about 180 PTZ's connected via an IP Tx and Rx over the past 6 years.
Many of them are noy migrated to full IP systems

    Thumbs up

    Thanks CCTVguru

I had a couple of CCTV 7" Sony Zoom PTZ Outdoor Dome Cameras and was looking for an easier method of connecting them up.

    Is the site already cabled?
If not and we are only talking a couple of cameras, just run a RG59 coax for video, twisted pair for data and Fig8 for power.
If it is a larger system or likely to be expanded, create a LAN with CAT5 or 6 and then using an IP solution, expansion is easy

They work fine for the video. I wouldn't run the power over the same cat5. Two reasons, volt drop due to small size compared to a fig8 and possible interference on the video signal.

    Default RG59 Cable

Just watch with CAT5. It may save you time if there is already a network available but in my experience there is alot of interference and 'Ghosting' if run anywhere near power cables.
In my opinion it is always best to run in RG59 when possible but if decide to use CAT5 then use a powered balun and keep well away from other cabling.
Also do not untwist the cores until you get to the balun terminal, does help.
