    Angry I have 6GB RAM but only 3.25GB Usable WTF ! ?

    Can anyone please tell me why my windows 7 32bit is stating that only 3.25GB is only usable ? when I clearly have 6GB

    All 4 slots have same brand RAM

    Any sugguestions are appreciated

    maybe its because you are not running 64 bit system.

    any 32bit operating system can only use upto 3.25g ram. even if it shows more than that.

    Only way to fix it is by installing the 64 bit, on the upside, there are plenty of cheap keys available!

    hmm i thought that would be the issue... thanks guys
    can i use 32bit apps on a 64bit OS ?

    coz some apps dont come in 64bit ?

    I hate it when people say that A 32bit OS can use 4g its just the rest is taken away for Graphics cards and other things

    thanks coopsoz, but i have a crack that works nice

    whiteox, i wasn't sure why i would buy a key, thats why i wanted to calarify what "cheap keys" were. why would i pay bill gates for an operating system ? thats just stupid isn't it !! ??

    I not living under a rock, i just wasn't sure that a 32bit OS couldnt take more then 3.25GB of ram, thats all.. but now i know

    i realise that whiteox - i know what you ment

    i know it had to do with me not knowing about cheap keys... which i found strange and though why would i buy a key ???

    Anyway, thank you to all the input from people and letting me know about 64bit....
