At own risk, people seemed to think it was unsafe. I personally never had problems
Have a system that until now has required a username and password to start (logon). I have removed the user password and the requirement for users to logon using passwords but now on start up, even with use welcome screen unchecked, it halts on the welcome screen with the dialong "Computer is locked. It can only be unlocked by "PC-xyz123/PCuser/administrator/'username'" Enter will cause it carry on without password but we are trying to get it to continue without the welcome screen and password requirement. Have tried all the tricks I know and have googled the problem without success, would appreciate any suggestions.
It is an unattended system with BIOS set to restart after power failure and an important monitor/record program set boot on startup but if it halts on the welcome screen it may be days or even weeks before it is checked and manually restarted.

If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.

if you have recently updated xp you will have this program, open run and type control userpasswors2 when you get a screen choose the user you want to sign in automatically untick users must use passwords...... then put apply then you'll get a popup asking for password for the user you chose just leave it blank and press ok then restart to test.
