Default 42LG30D Needing a firmware update

    Hey guys

Sorry to dig up old threads...

Desperately after a firmware update for my 42LG30D

Currently I believe it runs 3.07

Having hellish trouble with HDMI being recognized on PCs. 4 PCs tried and 3 different cables.

Also what is the procedure of updating?

    Many thanks

My advice is to contact LG Support.

If you're in Australia go to .

Contact details are half way down page.

I can offer you the same advice I gave him.... contact LG.
    Morning all,

Thread revival. Also having the known 9 channels software fault with my LG 32LB9D. I have contacted the LG Recall Line, they told me the TV is not the issue, it was at Broadcaster Nine released an update which broke it, and its not their problem. Would not comment any more about it. LG will not provide me the Firmware Update and told me it has to go to a repairer here in Perth for the update at my cost.

I have called the 2 LG repairers in Perth, told them the story, they both want $100 to look at it, then whatever it costs following that for a 5-10 min Firmware Update. The TV isn't worth that, so before I have to buy a STB and I never buy an LG product again, does someone still have access to the Firmware update? I believe the file itself is "32LB9D-AD_V3[2].28_HD-Download.epk"

    Appricate any help.

    Cheers,

    KS

    Merry Xmas all,

I too need to get the firmware update for the LG 42LG30D TV - my firmware is 3.06 (quite old) and gave LG a call - five minutes of my life wasted talking to a drone on the phone , I guess it is russian roulette if you get someone who can actually help - he gave me a local repairers contact , big mistake it was like I had insulted him asking for help fixing my own TV ... , please be nice all I'd like is to fix a TV that LG themselves stuffed up the firmware. If anybody can help it would be very very appreciated.

    Cheers,

    J

Necro thread but it helped me a lot. Registered just to post my fix. Old 47LG70YD TV with all the HDMI's dying. Found a firmware upgrade solution but couldn't get it installed, searching lead to this thread and I found a solution, so posting for others who come here the same way.

Guy below is correct, spam 7 while highlighting options icon in menu. Comes up with expert firmware mode but no way to select file. At this point pull out the usb and plug it back in, it auto detects and starts installing.

3.14 firmware up from 3.00 fixed all the HDMI issues (which were either broken or hazy lines like a dirty VHS tape) crystal clear now.

I had tired this earlier but with slower repetition to make sure the button presses registered but that was the wrong method.

This brought up the expert mode firmware update menu, This in itself is progress.

But then i was disappointed as it failed to register any update files on the USB drive.

The Morningstar semiconductor SoC MST2379A is configured for market specific applications via external firmware stored in flash, which is loaded in the boot sequence. What you have is an old fashioned hardware fault.
I was wondering if you still have the firmware for this LG TV. Do you have a link for me to download from. The file is Version V3.12.00_2009-12-01.bin and it is for a LG TV model 26LG30D or 32LG30D (I have both TV's).

    Any help would be grateful.
