COD MW2 makes a Billion dollars
In the Herald Sun today, it said that COD MW2 has grossed over one billion dollars and has taken 5 more weeks than Avatar took to reach the mark. The ststs were amazing, COD2 had an advertising budget of 200+ million and it retailed in some places for $120, whereas Avatar had $50 million advert campaign and tickets were $20.

just imagine how much more they would of made if P2P downloads was not around. when released 2500+ d/l in one day just on the site i was on

Yes very good game I have it on the xbox 360 amazing gfx. The thing is though you have to buy the game if you want to play it online since you need a unique Product Key. How is it playing multiplayer on the net ?
The other big difference between Avatar and MW2 is the fact that MW2 sales will all be very early on (spike at release and rather big drop), whilst Avatar will have a tail and then another spike (DVD/BluRay sales). In the end Avatar will make more than MW2.
I thought the collectors edition of this game was a fair bit more than $120, didn't care too much about it so never saw the price....... Yep it is $200.
Kinda like how DJ hero was the highest selling new IP (even though it sold less copies than Dragon Age).
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.
