    The card was orginally virgin and as such was talking to my phoenix at one or the other frquency (by talking I mean returning a valid ATR). I don't remember what was it 3.75 or 6 Mhz. The TC was sent using the frequency card responded to.
    Are you saying I shouldn't look at the replies but feed the TC at 3.75Mhz, even though card replies will be corrupted?
    I don't remember exactly, it could be the 3.75 Mhz I was using anyhow. I can check tonight if it was 3.75 as the card communication settings hasn't changed.

    Your atr will end with 69 83 if it is dead and when you try t osend anything to the card it will say the card is full but it will really be locked.

    69 83 will appear once the card failed to authenticate data string for three times, that's what I have. What Dave is saying his card does not give any ATR after being written into.

    I would think the process would be the same for the whole family of cards.

    Transport codes are in the datasheets. I think they are the same for all cards in the same series. If they are in the data sheet, they should be a constant.

    Transport code is not the problem, an OS is.

    Also Dave, was your card from Rob?
    I was sending this string:
    Quote:
    Sc.Write "00 82 00 00 08 37 4D 45 57 59 51 53 4B"

    Was it the same in your case?

    sc.write "00 82 00 00 08 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 " ' < == Change the Transport Code here to your value.
    ' Alter the "41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48" only

    ' P U T Y O U R T R A N S P O R T C O D E U P H E R E ^ ^ ^
    '================================================= ============================

    so we would change 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 string in this example

    Sc.Write "00 82 00 00 08 (37 4D 45 57 59 51 53 4B)"
    00 82 00 00 08 .................................7M EW YQ SK ????? this secure code would be 3 digits

    37 4D 45 57 where did u get this from ???????

    im not sure i..." Sc.Write "00 82 00 00 08 37 4D 45 57 59 51 53 4B" is correct????

    it would exceed by 1 digit??..
    sometimes you gotta deal with it
