    Default LNB Help

    I have bought a STRONG L802 TWIN OUTPUT 10.7GHz LNB. I have my dish installed and aligned to C1 and can scan channels and see the aurora tuning channel but my questions are;

1.) With this lnb facing the dish should the coax be coming out at about 7-8 o'clock or 4-5 o'clock? I have mine at 7-8 o'clock.

2.) In progdvb in the lnb settings there is a entry for LOF1, SWITCH and LOF2 I have set them to 10700, 11700, 10700. I don't know what they should be really set to?

3.) When I do a scan in progdvb i get about 140 channels and it groups them to foxtel, optus aurora and foxtel live. How do i get the grouping for Austar?

4.) Are all the lyngsat frequencies all correct for C1?

Ok I figured the LNB should be at around 7 o'clock when looking at it from the front but it looks like I'm only scanning half the channels maybe the lnb or PC card is dodgy as i cant seem to scan horizontal? I will try the other output of the LNB.

The 140 channels I listed include radio stations so there are channels missing. I understand now that the foxtel/austar channels are transmitted from the same transponders but with video guard and ird2 so that answers question 3.

Does anyone know how to set the LNB to single in progdvb?

Your lnb should be about 7:30 when viewed from the front.

    C1, frequencies...for me:-

    12305,H,30000,3/4 for pay channels
    12407,V,30000,2/3 for aurora

    hope that helps.

    Thanks z80.

I am still having problems getting a lock on any horizontal frequencies. I checked the voltage on the coax with a multimeter and it is putting out 18V so I can't understand what the hell is going on.

I have used progdvb and digitaltv 3.3 from the twinhan web site and neither can get any horizontal channels.

I don't have a decoder either to try to see if it's something to do with the software on the PC card. Maybe my LNB is stuffed? Is there anything else i can try? could the LNB be incompatable with my PC card its a twinhan AD- SP400 CI

I never heard about LNB not being compatible with card. It's something in your setup or LNB is stuffed.
Pays to get another LNB to test.
BTW, how big is your PC power supply?

Satellite cards are usually less sensitive than dedicated receivers.

What is the size of your current dish ?

Also if you suspect your card drivers are playing with you, try to install the DigitalTV3.4 from .

Dish is 85cm, I get 99% quality on vertical but can't lock onto anything horizontal.

In digitaltv I have LNB power set on and custom LNB chosen and in LNB1 I have 10700 and in LNB 2 I have 0. And like I said it is outputting the right voltage on the coax. The power supply is a 450W power supply but I have 3 hdd and 2 cdroms. Just to rule the PC out I was going to put the sat card in another pc and try there.

I just spoke to the guy I brought the lnb from he wants me to try to set the LNB to 4-5 oclock and swap all the polarization and see if i only now get horizontal channels. He said if that is the case he will send me out a new LNB.

Just tried in another pc with digitalTV 3.4 that fromaron posted and get the same results... no horizontal. Voltage is 18.9v in the other machine. I will have a 7 metre ladder tomorrow so i can see if i turn the lnb 90 degrees i can definately get horizontal channels using 14v. Id say if i can get horizontal after that then the LNB is screwed.

It does point to LNB beeing screwed . You have good quality on vertical transponders, so it's not an alignment problem.
BTW the DigitalTV3.4 I got straight from Azurewave support team when I bought my Twinhan card and couldn't get diseqc positioner to move. Azurewave engineers worked with me all the way untill they gave me next DigitalTV3.4 version, which wors perfecly for me. I guess it is still beta that's why you wont see it at their website.
