    Default Austar/Aurora one cable

I am after information to see if there is a product so i can run a single cord from my dish then split it into two when it gets to inside the house so i can run a box for aurora and a box for austar, or is it only possible with a dual LNB

Also is it possible to get an LNB with three outlets to run three different boxes

you can run a loop cable from your austar box to your aurora box, but will only be able to watch aurora when the austar box is set to a vertical polarity channel or is in standby by pressing the power button on the remote. In my opinion its just easier to get a dual lnb and run another cable

i have a duel LNB on already, one outlet cord to topfield then other cord to austar, just wanting to use the cord that goes to austar for aurora as well

Multiswitch? i am not quiet sure what these are but would be interested to find out if buying one of these may be an option

For completely independent operation of each receiver, you have two options.

Replace the dual LNB with a Quad LNB eg: 4 outputs, but only use 3.

Or as you were thinking, a multiswitch, the most common of which has 4 or 8 outlets.

You connect the two cables from your existing dual LNB to the input of the multiswitch (eg: one each to the horizontal and vertical inputs) then connect the outlet plates to the multiswitch outputs.

The multiswitch is powered from the receivers and passes power to the LNB.
You only need one receiver on to power it, but of course, all of them on at the same time also works fine, as that's what it's designed to do.

A Spaun Multiswitch does the job,

both outlets from your Duel LNB go to the Multiswitch In (H & V),

you then have 8 Outlets for 8 independent devices

    Good Luck

Almost any satellite store sells them, but I doubt you'd find a better deal than those listed on the eBay link at the moment.

i have got my multiswitch but have realised it has a H and a V input for the cords from the dish, I have tried it out with one cord but I cant get both my austar and dreambox to run off the same input one runs of the H and one runs of the V settings, is it possible or do i need to run two cords from the LNB into the multi switch, or can i change a setting so both boxes can run of either H or V setting

What you need is one of the cables from the LNB going into the H input, and the other going into the V input on the multi-switch. You then need to run two output cables to each of your boxes so that each box can access the V and H TPs independantly.

Sorry Cobber, that is not quite correct. You would only need to do that if the boxes were Twin Tuner.
Otherwise a single cable to each box will give H and V to each box.
For Aurora at the moment, you only need V anyway.

Default Only one cable to each receiver

Fairly sure you shall only have to run one output cable to each box but someone shall correct me if I am wrong

Yep.... only one cable required from a multiswitch to each 'tuner' so a box with a single tuner.. one cable.

IQ/IQ2, two cables... one for each separate tuner.

Yes, IQ2 has more than two tuners, but the additional ones are split internally.
