    Default Dcom terminates unexpectedly

    Mates pc displays error message:
"Dcom service process service terminated unexpectedly"
    then restarts the computer.
This is happening about every twenty minutes so there isn't much time to do scans.
Have tried System Restore to a date before the onset of the problem but no success.
Has anyone come across this and have a solution?

    Default Update

Have used the "shutdown -a" command to stop the system shutting down and managed to run a full scan using Malwarebytes. Twenty-four infections found and removed but the problem persists.

    Hi Philquad
I wont be seeing him again until the weekend.
I'll do as you suggest as well as running a couple of rootkit scanners and post the results.
    Cheers

After some grilling, he admitted to visiting some porn sites.
I wil get back to you after running some more diagnostics.

Good news, the latest security updates from Microsoft seem to have resolved the problem. Even the IE redirects have stopped.
A thorough test using AVG antivirus and their rootkit scanner reveal no problems.
