Depends on what your lnb is if it aftermarket one 90% of times it will be 11300
so you must set all feilds with 11300.
If it is Foxtel your lnb most probably be 10700 so set all three feilds with 10700.

I have one of the so called "bad" DM500s clones and am using an LNB with (I believe) settings of:
9750 LO - Low
10600 LO - Hi
12750 MHZ - Upper Freq limit
I am having trouble getting signal received satisfactory on the C1 Transponder 9 at 12647 Mhz (V) and have tried may different settings on the satellite LNB menu of the DM500. The best I could get is lock with the signal fluctuating from 50 to 70% level with pictures dropping in & out accordingly.
Other channels on a different transponder & frequency comes in AOK.
Does anyone know what the correct settings in the LNB area of the DM500 Sat menu should be??

Thanks Chieflets.
The LNB is definitely not an 11300 unit.
The LNB I am using is an old "Phono trend" and I am sure the numbers I have listed in this thread are what are on the LNB itself. I thought it it would make sense to use these numbers in the settings.
I also have a new dual LNB (Brand new in the box) that has the same numbers.
No harm in trying what you have suggested anyway.
I am still curious as to some of these LNB settings and how to use e.g. there is 14V and 18V settiings as well??
Then set it to
11300 LO - Low
11300 LO - Hi
11300 MHZ - Upper Freq limit
as your lnb is not universal
Chieflets
If you get pics dropping in and out it sounds like an alignment or skew problem.
Just Got Home - Do not think it is skew or signal level as I have used another STB (Opentel) in the past and the dish & LNB was tuned / adjusted to max signal level.
The actual details on the LNB are as follows:
Phonotrend single Output LNB
Type No. Universal 111 AE50
LO 9.75/10.60GHz
CCS7811
Sounds like a universal to me.... Any Ideas anyone?
Ok - Just set the Satellite LNB settings to :
09750
10600
10600
Hi/Lo + H/V
This seems to provide the best "match" for max signal and lock.
I still do get Pixelation on some channels so either I can do a little more skew adjustments to fix.
I might simply also replace the LNB as this one is a bit old and could be a source of the problem.
Also I have heard that on these el cheaper DM500s they can have some issues with tuner sensitivity especially when using a Universal LNB. BTW on the channels with pixelation the OSD shows at least 70% SNR - I would have thought this is quite good. _ Anyone else have this problem??
We have been trying to tell you that you have the wrong settings for your LNB, based on the info you have posted.
Please turn your ears on
Thanks
Yes I have tried everything that has been suggested
i.e.
11300 LO - Low
11300 LO - Hi
11300 MHZ - Upper Freq limit
and also with all three fields set with 10700 just in case it was an old Foxtel LNB
and further also with all three fields set with 10600.
and experimenting with other combinations trial and error process.
This is the best match that I have found that works with this gear.
I will go and grab my old Opentel STB and connect it and see what settings it works with so I can compare
Thanks Again
OK - Confirmed with another STB that the correct settings for this LNB is:
Universal
09750
10600
10600
Hi/Lo + H/V
Channels all being received with a few channels on the vertical polarity pixelating.
I adjusted the LNB Skew to get a stronger signal and all now looks good with no pixelation on both the Opentel and DM500.
It seems that the signal level previously being received was at a threshold or borderline that was giving me the pain.
Thanks to all for their input.
Why not go out and buy a NEW 11300 lnb instead of guessing?
They are like about $25 new.
then your settings will be :-
11300
11300
anything
as stated earlier.
Buying a new LNB was not a problem and I would have done this if it got to that.
The greater problem for me was to find the time to get to my favourite satellite shop. This solution was easier.
Having said this I already had a working LNB plus another new dual Universal LNB with the same settings and I did not need another one.
We all love the challenge to "nut it out" and solve the problem.
Experience is part of the learning.
As jonc has posted above - Just change to lnb 1, 2, 3 (whatever) etc & save - that will revert LNB 0 back to default settings (the default dreambox LNB settings are for a Universal LNB as per the above pic )
