Best game pad for shooters, Keyboard and Mouse

If you like the feel of the 360 game pads, the wired one (and I believe the wireless one but never used it) works great. Oh if the Xbox 360 wired for PC is avaliable and is MORE expensive than a standard Xbox360 wired controller dont get it, because all it has is a driver disc which is already avaliable from Microsoft (the driver that is).

I use a 360 pad for Trackmania (hate keyboard in racing games!)
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

There is only one Xbox 360 wired controller product AFAIK, The 260 controller makes for a great gamepad, but there are also devices out there which allow you to interface a PS2 controller with a PC and use that as a gamepad, and there is even software that will allow you to use the Wii controllers on the pc.

If you want a 360 controller, then pick one up from Crime Converters, ebay, etc much cheaper that way.
