Seems as they are made by Netcomm, failure due to heat and internal parts failure is quite high... Typical Netcomm really.
They also do NOT do 2G at all...
Anyone used one of these units?
Seems to bridge a nice hole in the market where people are on VSAT but are now in range for NextG or 3G Wireless Internet.
And with packages at the same price as Active8me, you be rather silly to keep your old laggy VSAT deal running.
I have plenty of installations that run Ipstar Internet, but it seems their days are numbered, and it was ALWAYS a crap service anyway (even more so now everyone is on it).
Most of these places have vast networks in hard wired and local wifi. Seems this new unit is a good solution (better than a USB dongle slammed into a third party box and all the issues you can have there).
Just wondered if people have used/tried them?
$200 if you're a Telstra customer and $29.95 for 3Gb seems ok for low users.
Would be a great solution for a Boat!!!! Or Holiday Home.....
Being this seems a priority box for Telstra, wonder if there is the SAME box available yet NOT locked to Telstra, so my clients have the option of jumping ship etc? Although being is is prolly made for NextG, perhaps not.
P.S. I hate Telstra with a passion!!! But i guess my clients may not.
