A new map always changes something along routes that I use all the time. Can someone please confirm this with your TomTom device. Im currently using XL340 with 8.415 app + 845.2661 map. For the intersection Springvale Road and Mitcham Road in Melbourne, heading north along Springvale Road and taking a right turn into Mitcham Road. Can someone test that for me, it simply does not want to take that turn with my unit. Ill take a screen of my unit weirdness if it doesn't happen to anyone else.

A picture of the intersection from whereis:

Also an error with a toll road in Sale, Vic thats been there for a while?

So what is your problem ?
Why should we try your route for you ? If you use it every day ,than you should know the area anyway !?
Just from the look on the map I see that there is no direct turn off - don't know if that is correct or not.
    Same for your Toll road....

Have you ever heard of a function called "Map share" - with it you can make corrections and upload them to TT.

Ok if you're not interested in correcting bugs thats fine. I'd hate to be going to this location if I didn't know it, you'd be sent a 1km detour if you wanted to turn right there. If I have problems around my area, I can't imagine the mistakes I don't know about. Map share cannot remove a toll road.

Chaz, DU and other people on this forum cannot fix these problems/map errors, only TT can. We appreciate you telling us about it, however nothing can be done unless you work for TT... it appears to me that only monkeys are allowed to work at TT, not normal people like us.

If the bug exists on your device with the same map version, then its going to exist on every other persons device that is using the same map... like i said, not much you can do. Do what DU has sugguested and use "Map Share" or email/ring TT

Well I've been testing it out heaps by closing off all other possible turns and forcing it through there and it adds 5mins to the ETA time. So thats the problem, its not a blocked turn or anything, but rather the routing engine thinks it will take 5mins to make that right turn and it would rather send you left then make a uturn 1km away and come back.

Sorry I wasted your time, I thought people might be interested in this. TomTom forum might be a better place for this.

    Why do you think that?
It is a fact that for most GPS device/maps you will find a few errors while you use it.
The point here is that we can not do anything about these errors.
Even if you check a different forum you might find out that you get the same answer :
You can submit the error to Tomtom using map share or try a different Navcore version as the route calculation engine is in the Navcore.
As you have not mentioned any more details I assume you have not checked if there is a difference when turning of IQ routes?
Maybe it is not a map error or problem with the Navcore but reported that there are huge delays for the time you calculated the route !??
That would mean it is a IQ routes problem and should be submitted to Tomtom anyway...
If you want advise to solve a problem you should state it that way (clearly) or just say that you want to share this info and ask if other users have the same problem in other areas - this could actually be a very interesting thread than...

You can use screenshots from your device as well for your postings - I can make some instructions on how to activate this feature on a Tomtom.

Many Thanks for the map update !!
Speedcams link shows file not available though ? Sorry , the link simply doesn't like the new Firefox , works fine in IE though.

    845_2661 works on Go 920 with 8.413

    Default Help!

Hi gents, I must be doing something wrong. This is for a Tomtom XL 340 IQ Routes device (device software v9.026 and Tomtom Home v2.7.3.1894).

In the Tomtom Home software, it says "This item cannot be used on this device because it needs to be activated first". This at least tells me that I have the map files in the right place to start with correct?

So at the moment, I have the 845.2661 map files in ":\Australia_845_2661", but I can't get Keygen 2009 to work.

When I select 'Make map keys--> Make DTCs' i get "Corrupted meta some maps will not work" .

When I select 'Patch tomtom home' I get "Correct tomtom home.dll missing for your device."

When I select 'Patch system' I get "Navcore ttsystem problem. You need a genuine non-patched file."

Seems I'm really struggling at the moment...

    Any ideas?

The corrupted meta can be ignored - that is related to the truck map - your .dct file will be created if you have the right meta code inside the meta.txt (the Keygen I posted in this thread has them).
Patch Home only works if you have used the function "Operate my go" and Home downloaded the file to simulate your device. However this patching is for this function only ! All other things like downloads, mapshare and quickfix will work fine without the patching.
If the Keygen can not patch the ttsystem you either way have a problem or the file is already patched.
In case the patching does not work at all you could use the prepatched SE ttsystem.

Thanks Downunder, that makes a little more sense. I'll try cleaning things up and then uninstall/reinstall everything and see how I go.

    Thanks again.

    No worries ,
if you use the meta.txt of the keygen you can use the old tools like EasyActivator or keygen3.1 as well if you like ,but for patching a V9 Navcore you will need the Keygen4.1 or use a SE ttsystem.

Sorry I should have included this earlier - the mapsettings.cfg file (Favourites) transferred from 840_2561 to 845_2662 (correct numbers), however my 920 wasn't interested in the mapsettings.cfg moving from 840_2562 to 845_2661...

There are ways to get your favourites going if you have to....
However I only tested it from the same map versions with the same features...
Is there a reason why you don't use the full featured 845.2661 map?

The Eclipse's latest Navcore is 7.833, which looking at the table doesn't support the "flash" maps.

OK OK so you're now going to say - "why don't you try it and report back?"

(Maybe one day, just not today )

Talking New 845 Maps and favourites

Hi Guys . . The new 845 map has a lot of updates around Brisbane. The new Gateway Motorway deviation and associated link roads to the Domestic and International airports have been added to it.

Unfortunatly they haven't yet updated the Ipswich Motorway/Centenary Motorway intersection yet. Maybe next Map will have that.

As to getting your old favourites onto a new map. I just keep my old mapsettings.cfg file, rename it to mapsettings .old. Load the new map and then switch to it. Create a new Home favourite on it etc. Then go back to explorer and save the newly created mapsettings.cfg as a .bak file. Then rename my old mapsettings.old file back to be a mapsettings.cfg file.

Viola .. all your old favourites are back again when you load the map again. Sometimes it takes a little longer than normal to load up but after that first time it is great.
