Default xbox 1. power button not working?

    Hi,

my trusty xbox 1 has developed an issue.

I power it up tonight and when I put the power cable into it. the green light was on.

the tray on the dvdrom woudl open and it played a game fine. then when I went to power it down nothing happened.

I pressed a few times and nothing. the tray would open and close fine. then finally the power button turned the console off. but it wouldnt turn it back on. the tray open button turns the xbox on and opens and closes the tray fine just the power button isnt working

the console has been a few weeks since it had power to it

    Any ideas?

    thanks

probaly one of two things mate
faulty micro switch on the switch board or
a faulty diode , down near the power connector you will see a bank of the m , off memory it is the RG3G one you need to check out

If it turns on automatically when power is applied, it WILL be a corrosion issue on the motherboard(2-3 fine tracks at the front of the motherboard). This is usually a symptom of a v1-4 xbox.

A repair for a pro mate as these tracks are very fine!
