I suppose they are in business to make money from their inventions, otherwise it would be open platform and you would have to play the games on a device you invent yourselves.

People wanting to play games need to be in a partnership with the companies that develop the equipment & the games. Too many think it is a 'right' to just buy the consol & then pirate anything they can get their hands on.
