    Default mobile dvr

Just got a used v6-4ch mobile dvr of ebay
anyway found the data and ordered a new remote control
the software it uses to analyze the gps data encoded with the video
    uses mapinfo .gps files
does anybody have them for australia
also the unit saves the data in .car file format
    any help there as well
the only pain in that the unit requires a ir remote to do all progranming

    units has 4 camera, 4 rs232, 4 digital, 4 analog inputs
    has usb and ethernet ports
    gps logging
    and 2 avout and vga
    with a removable setup

    has anybody got one!

.car format is a propriety format like 99% of mobile DVR's for security reasons, im pretty sure you can convert to AVI.

That DVR you have is a rock solid unit, pretty good playback quality, some law agencies in USA use them in the police cars, they interface their radar units into them for video verifacation if there is a dispute on a ticket, the radar data is overlayed on the video screen, kinda like POS interface does. Its worth a few grand.

just ordered the remote conntrol $110nzd (ouch)
need it to do EVERTHING without the remote its a paper weight
found the software to replay and convert
just go to file some australian mapinfo geoset files in the .gst format
then with the software it will plot the route and speed data on the map
    other versions use google earth

yep it goes under many brands, but Camerio is the main importer from China or Korea. Ive used a bit of Camerio, damn expensive but works well.
