    Default DM500s Audio Sync Problem

    Hello,

I am currently running two DM500S's (on two different images, PLi and Gemini; which I do plan to change to one) but I am getting the same problem on both.

After a few hours the video and audio begin to become out of sync and this gradually gets worse until I get to reset the boxes.

I have searched on this issue and found a this thread () which says to disable "FastZapping" which I believe I did.

I did this (on the PLi box as a trial) by editing the 'config' file in the /var/tuxbox/config/enigma directory. I changed the following line:
    i:/elitedvb/extra/fastzapping=00000001
    to
    i:/elitedvb/extra/fastzapping=00000000
and then restarted the box; but the problem has not gone away. Is this the correct thing to do; if so, what else can casue this?

I do believe these boxes are clones but I'm not sure of their revision number.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Anubis.

you either did or you didn't.
    it always fixes it.

Do you have it going through a HI-FI?

some surround sound amps cause delays with big screens etc.

    Hello z80,

Thanks for the reply. I thought that I had fixed it by changing that line in the config; but obviously I hadn't. There is no big hi-fi nor big tv (I wish!).

    Thanks
    Anubis.

When I’ve had a lip-sync issue on a DM7xxx box, changing the Fast Zapping has done absolutely nothing, in any image. I know it gets posted as a fix a lot, but in my personal experience it has never worked. Perhaps the DM500 is different, as I have never had a box lock up from it either.

You shouldn't need to edit files. You can do it on screen with the remote control

I was having this issue also and it seems since I have disabled fast zapping the problems have gone away.
    BTW I am using a DM500s

If disabling it hasn't fixed it then your box needs re-imaging.

It works, too many people agree

    Guys

I am having a Lip Sync problem with my DM500s, I am running GW on an XP PC with 2 different gamma cards, on one of the cards all the channels work perfectly on the other some of the channels are doing a lip sync.

I have fast zapping turned off. Has anyone had a lip sync problem with GW?

    Cheers

    Hello All,

Thanks for your assistance, what I had changed in the file must not have been fastzapping as when I finally found it in the menu it was still enabled. As soon as I disabled it the video immediately caught up to the sound and no problems and more...

    Cheers all.
    Anubis.
